Bookkeeping

Preparing records for bookkeeping

Organize your records by company and period so the team can review the work needed.

Gather the period’s records

Prepare the requested bank statements, sales records, expense documents and earlier bookkeeping reports. Identify the company and period clearly, and explain any gaps.

Explain unclear transactions

Separate questions about owner contributions, transfers, refunds or unfamiliar items for the team. Do not guess how a transaction should be treated. If a bank connection is offered, review what it accesses before authorizing it.

Agree the next steps

Confirm the period covered, missing information and expected deliverables with the team. Uploading transactions alone does not confirm completed books or a filed tax return.
