Getting started

Preparing to choose a company and state

Bring your business plans to the formation discussion before selecting a structure or filing state.

Describe the business

Prepare a short description of what you sell, where you work, your expected customers and the owners involved. Explain whether you already have a company or U.S. operations.

Compare the full scope

A package name does not determine the right entity or state for you. Ask about formation, ongoing filings, tax work and registered-agent needs together. Confirm which services and state fees are included before payment.

Confirm before filing

Review names, ownership and addresses with the team before authorizing a filing. If your plans change, raise this in the application; a change after submission may require a separate process.
